Get Active for the Holidays!




With the cold winter creeping in getting active is a great way to stay warm and healthy through the holidays!  Being active and getting healthy for the holidays can help to avoid cardiovascular risks, unwanted weight gain, and increased body strength.




Benefits:

·    Having control over your weight, either maintaining or losing.
·         Reducing risks of heart disease.
·         Improvement on lowering blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels.
·         Reducing risks of developing type 2 diabetes.
·         Help control blood glucose levels.
·         Can help reduce risks for cancers such as colon and breast cancers.
·         Bones and muscles become stronger.
·         Mental health improvement.








Getting active for the holidays can be fun and exciting and something for the whole family to do.  There are beautiful walks to take outside as the leaves change colors from fall to winter.  There are running and biking trails that can also help to keep in shape.  While the resources that the community provides is a great way to be active, you can also schedule a workout plan throughout the week either for yourself or for the whole family to do to keep motivated throughout the winter.
